About Us
The Department of Anatomy is comprised of 20 faculty members with primary full-time appointments. 16 jointly appointed faculty, and about 250 postdoctoral fellows and students. The research areas are diverse, including cell, development biology and neurobiology. Department laboratories are located at both the Parnassus Heights and Mission Bay campuses.
The faculty include members of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Royal Society. The faculty is committed to graduate education and is the administrative home of the Program in Developmental Biology, the Biomedical Sciences graduate program (BMS) and the Willed Body Program (WBP). The Department is actively committed to creating and maintaining a stimulating, collaborative, educational environment within UCSF.
