Systemic Regional and Developmental Anatomy (9 units)

Dana Rohde received her PhD in Physiology at UCSF in 1997. She holds a joint appointment in the departments of anatomy and physiology.
Dr. Rohde directs the Organs block in the Medical School New Curriculum. This block is an integrated approach to cardiovascular, pulmonary, and renal diseases. The relevant anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pathology, pharmacology, genetics, epidemiology, and social and behavioral sciences are taught in this 13 week long block. In addition to directing this block, she teaches lectures, labs, and small groups.
Dr. Rohde teaches anatomy in several of the Essential Core medical school blocks: Prologue, Organs, Metabolism and Nutrition, BMB (Brain, Mind, and Behavior), I3 (Infection, Immunity, and Inflammation), and Life Cycle. She also runs some sessions in the Epilogue block. Dr. Rohde teaches anatomy in the Pharmacy School anatomy course. She also teaches physiology as well as some histology and pharmacology.
Dr. Rohde is a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators. She plays an active role in the Essential Core Steering Committee and the Essential Core Course Committee.
