Anatomy Department Teaching Program
The anatomy teaching program consists of eight full-time faculty dedicated to teaching in the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, and the Department of Physical Therapy. In addition to teaching students during their early years of graduate school, the department of anatomy also provides immersive anatomy courses for fourth-year medical students prior to the start of their residency programs. Anatomy teaching faculty collaborate with various medical departments within UCSF to provide physicians with continuing education throughout their medical careers.
Due to the flexible arrangement of the Anatomy Learning Center, the anatomy teaching faculty are able to divide the lab, which allows for simultaneous teaching of anatomy on embalmed cadavers, as well as teaching basic medical procedures and techniques on unembalmed cadavers. The anatomy teaching faculty utilize iPads, Apple TVs, and mobile camera carts, which allows for teaching and learning that reflects the new generation of students and learning.
