Research Overview:
We study lipid functions in the brain, a lipid-rich organ that contains long-lived, morphologically intricate neurons enmeshed by glia. By harnessing Drosophila genetics, we ask how neurons and glia coordinately make and use lipids across development, aging, and disease. We are particularly excited to develop tools to more precisely track and manipulate the lipidome at subcellular resolution.
